Its not as hard as it seems. There is a lot of info in the forums, just needs a bit of patience and a null modem cable.

      You'll get there.

      Whats your symptoms anyway?

ditto.....or an ethernet cable which are easier to come by in my opinion....the rest is reading listening being patient and a slight bit of work...

        then comes total joy

Whereabouts are you, m8? If Leeds or therabouts, you'll need to do a Full Scan (All Transponders / Brute Force) taking about 30 mins.

            Cheers- AL

Yeah he's Leeds PaphosAl, says in his profile. I have never worked out what this Brute Force is? I have a dbox2 and have never seen it.

bruteforce can be added to the cables.xml file and scan settings which should include all frequencies and both sym rates of 6887 and 6952, it alternates between them when scanning therefore if u r not sure of ur settings a bruteforce scan should find ur services.

If you're serious, and not winding us up- and really do NOT know if you are are in 6952 or 6887 - then you just do a Full Scan (All Transponders) first with 6952 Sym Rate set. If no results- then try again with 6887 !!

Caveat: On most images, when changing these Scan settings- you have to reboot the dbox before a Scan, otherwise the new settings will not have been registered in neutrino!

In Commando 11.3 (thanks to cydine's wizardry) you can change Scan settings, press Red to Save- and just carry on!

But I'm pretty damned sure that this affected test area is 6887...

                    Cheers- AL

not sure y u want to try but here's a cables file including bruteforce, the scan is likely to take around 1/2 hour

                      cables.rar

also u will need to edit ur scan.conf file, or use this

                      scan.rar

                      reboot after editing

                      cheers

How can we take YOUR word for this, SS, when you drift around all the areas in your gypsy caravan?

nb: This is with his Sat dish folded away whilst in transit, peeps...

                            Help

Hi, can anyone help me out here. Trying to help someone with their dbox2. It's supposedly been "sorted" by the guy that sold it to my friend. All we were told to do was change the scan area to ours (which is Edinburgh). It then says it is saving something. After that it goes to the channels (and they are all there) but none of them show anything (Inc the free ones). It just says channel error. I don't have the computer cables just the remote control. Can anyone tell me how I do a
proper channel scan or just help me out!!! Many thanks
