cant flash dbox2

thanks for any help i bought a nokia dbox2 and when i set it up there was nothing on the screen and the box had kein system on the front and a load of writing with it ive tried to reflash the box around 20 times but still getting nothing have the null modem cable and the cat5 cable it runs all the way to the end of upload then when i restart it comes up with this kein system should i buy more boxes and some cement and build myself a wall

when kein systems is showing you can only flash the box using a thing called IFA .......Image Flash Assistant, its in the downloads

Try a different image. You might have kept flashing it with a 1x image when you need a 2x one.

Just to underline that advice- ALL Nokia boxes are 2x Images, never 1x

hi there it does sometimes takes awhile to get in but it goes are you getting any info from the box to your computer

One important point when flashing with IFA.

Make sure you have the box connected with the ethernet/crossover cable and POWERED ON. Start IFA then POWER OFF and ON again in quick succession.

right it sounds as if you are trying to flash the box with a 1 chip file make sure it is a 2 chip file you load also with the ifa i connect all the cables apart from the power cable when the ifa starts it says preparing computer then it says waiting for dbox then plug in the power cable then it will load hopefully this helps after it has finnished unplug the box take out all leads then power up with only the power cable in and all should be fine
