I've flashed boxes before but im new to dbox2. Ok so im flashing with null cable. I've read through the tut sticky, do i need to download any other files? as with other boxes ive used firmware and channel data.

I do not have either net cable. I got a null cable that i flashed my eurovox with earlier. Yes there a image on box at the minute and all works fine. I was hoping to just update firmware, there are some channels on the box i cant get i.e espn, i was hoping id get them if i updated it. or any other ideas?Comment

u won't be able to update (add files) to the image with null, get a network cable if using a router or a xover cable if direct connection with pc, u can ftp then.
if u can't get espn u could scan or chk ur bouquets, if u scan u may loose all ur channels if not successfull.....with a cable u could back up ur services first to ur pc in case u did lose them
another way is to use tuxbox commander thru remote, rename the services.xml file to something else then if problems after scanning delete the new services file and change the name of the old file back.....bit fiddly get a cable their cheap....Comment

Is there anyway i can re-scan for channels without losing current ones?
ESPN america and classic works fine, but the main ESPN channel only works when it wants to.
These are the reading i get on the espn channel

BITRATE 5400

From memory, choose leave bouquets i think
Make a back up of your bouquets then if you lose them just ftp them back in

u can do it throught the null modem and ethernet with ifa
connect ethernet and null to comp and box with box off
just go into local area connection go to properties
un tick all apart from tcp/ipv4
then click on ipv4 then properties
click use the following ip addy
click ok then close ready to ifa new image
takes 5mins max
if you want to do it that way ill pm you the ip settings dont think there allowed on here
