    How does this work??

    Greetings!

I am trying to figure out what I need to perform a successfull scan. I am using a Sportster image on a Nokia box. The problem is that I don't seem to find all the channels. So I have a couple of questions that maybe someone can answer:

    1) Do the files scan.conf and cables.xml need to be somewhat paired? How exactly do I create a proper cables.xml and scan.conf?

    2) Are the frequencies for each channel known? Ie, is it possible to create the services.xml or add channels without having to do a scan? If so where can I get such information?

    3) I have been looking into the feedback about various different images. Is there any table or information that compares the features of the various images? Are all the images discussed here compatible with the Nokia box?

    4) One of the features that I miss in the Sportster is the internet radio. It appears it only does something similar via shoutcast. Is there any other implementions of internet radio?

Enough questions for someone that is posting for the second time! Thanks for the great website.

If your Sportster Image is uk modded
All the Files should be there for Scanning

You Can Ftp a working service file and bow k across to your Current image
Enabeling it to pick up wot you are missing
All the 2 times images will do for your Nokia Mate ....Paul

      Hi Paul,

      Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I used to have the correct files but I moved home in the meantime and haven?t got the files for the new area.

Thats why I am trying to do a scan. Combining a brute force with a custom made cables.xml I came up with (using netid, base freq, and symbol rate) and a little program called Voxcalc I managed to find more channels but still a lot of channels missing.

In any case this is kind of a challenge so I set myself to learn about this stuff.

      Cheers

            Hi there,

I have been away for some time. Just popped in to see whether there is someone out there in my area who can help me sort out the files I need to get the box working again.

            Cheers
