    Cable splitter break down

Has anyone heard of a splitter breaking down, I have had no problems until recently but all of a sudden channels are breaking up. I have to use a signal amp on one box, but still getting channel break up with splitter in, if I put the feed straight into the signal amp there is no problem. I know it seems obvious that the splitter is the problem, but has anyone else had a problem with splitters????

May not be a splitter issue.

From time to time i have signal issues on cartain channels.

This could be caused by the cable supplier themselves.
I have an attenuator attached after the split on my box and i no longer have issues as i can vary the signal strength.
