Not a major problem! But both yesterday and today came back home to the message 'No channels found please do a re-scan'. Re-scan only takes a couple of minutes (Commando 11.3), and all channnels ok, but never had this before. Any ideas
Al,
Quick update, I'm only home on a weekend, so I only got round to 'updating' as per your advice on Saturday morning. Never used (or new how to use) Telnet, so searched around on Google for info. Anyway managed to apply the upgrade, and now all seems OK, no mysterious shutdowns (reboots) or rescan requests.
Thanx again.
Kev
p.s. Have the 'shutdown timer' settings been removed, can't see them since update
The user's Timer settings in /var/tuxbox/config/timerd.conf (if this still exists) are NOT affected by any of the Upgrades / Updates, honest!
If they don't exist on your current setup- simple! You've deleted them (as some planks recommend around the boards...)
Default C11.3 Timer setup attached for you. Just change it's .txt extension to .conf please. But a superior automatic Daily Timer setup (which we can't use as a default, coz the Zapto channel ID is region-specific) is along the following lines:
Obviously, adjust the times / wake-up channel to suit yourself. I find the 'long' shutdown purges memory better than a warm Reboot, plus, with this setup, you can even put the box into Shutdown yourself (before the 0100 timer)- and it will still switch itself On at 0500.
It's called Team-Commando doing their bit for the Planet
re the scan failure
seems telpest area the fast scan is not working
its been tested here useing few images had to use full scan to get none working ones back on.
It's probably nothing sinister, just Frequency and/or NetID and/or SymRate changes on the TW platform.
Easy enough to check- just go into the EM on your subbed box and see if any of the above sets of data (vital for Fast Scan to function correctly) have changed from the settings you see in the Scan Menu on your dbox.
If they have, please announce the new details, so the devs can update their SML databases. Otherwise, change the Scan settings from Fast Scan to 'All Transponders' (or BruteForce, or whatever). Takes 20-30 mins, but so what?
I reckon some of you spend more time Scanning than you do watching telly, LOL!
my itv,c4,c5 & a couple more channels said {error channel not availiable} yesterday tue. so i rescaned it only scaned for 6 seconds then found no channels and took off all the rest.tried rescan on all different settings and still same. changed 4 images and still same. i then tried set location on another town, hey presto! but why!
