    Help needed

    I recenty got kien system on my dbox so bought a null modem cable usb style as I dont have any com ports but still cant connect to my dbox in order to flash a new image i dont have any idea wot to do next i downloaded the flashing assistant and went through but when it asks wot com port the nullmodem cable is connected to nothing comes up any ideas do i need to create a com port and if so how do i do this any help is greatly appreciated cheers

    You may need the driver for your lead, search on here for USB to rs232 driver , download the driver and install.

      i have downloaded drivers but dont know if it worked as i cant select a com port to use any ideas

        Use Renny's IFA Portable v3.1 m8.

        This works 99.9% first time every time with just the ethernet cable ONLY!!

          ive tried looking on the forum for the Portable IFA v3.1 but when i tried to download it, it just went to a blank screen i have looked around the net for it and got one version but again wouldnt lt me use it. I downloaded the the IFA from the hallenberg site I think its V3.3 and cant connect with that can you point me in the direction of the download please yours gratefully

            There is two in the d/loads section and both d/loaded ok for me
            use a ethernet crossover cable only

              cheers i got that but now when i try to run it I just get some message in german and then i cant do anything sorry to be such a pain in tthe arse

                Hi managed to get dbox assistent working but dont know if its working properly the message I have in the technical information box is as follows:

                BootP: Got request from 00509C1B819C
                Error DeleteIpNetEntry: Element not found.

                BootP: Created ARP-entry with IP: 192.168.0.202 and Mac: 00509C1B819C
                BootP: Answer to 00509C1B819C sent
                BootP: Got request from 0023C3157A08
                BootP: Got request from 0023C3157A08

                can anyone help me with this cheers

                  Set your pc network card to 10baseT_halfduplex or 10halfmode
                  give it a static ip of 192.168.1.201 subnet 255.255.255.0
                  disable antivirus,firewalls and any other networkcards including wireless
                  turn box on start ifa start flash process then turn box off then on again see if it says flashing in the lcd.
