    Kein System - Sagem Dbox2

    Hi all,

I know this is a frequently asked question and i read all the other 4 or 5 threads on this matter but my question is rather different

Specs: Dbox2 Sagem, Win XP SP3, PC connected to the net via wireless router (connected to the cable modem) and dbox is connected to the router via ethernet cable
Background: Image which was originally installed was a Neutrino Sporster i believe a 1x

The box was working fine until now (worked for couple of months with no issues) I turn it on yesterday and i had the problem that it couldnt find any EPG. Tried to force update,
tried to reboot, checked settings but nothing worked

Managed to FlashFTPed into it and saw the folders of the box but i made a mistake, in the rush i uploaded a random image which i though to be the sporster image i had originaly, and when the box rebooted it gave me the Kein System error, to my horror

I am using IFA (hallenberg) to try and install a new image (Commando 11.3_x1_UkCvs_[1x].img) but nothing happen after i select the image and the wireless router as my network card on which the dbox is connected to.

    My questions
    0) Why did it stopped working suddently? key expired? or bad image?
    1) are my settings correct? I have disabled firewall and antivirus
    2) What is the different between an Ethernet cable (RJ45?)and cross over cable in order to get one
    3) Do i need a null cable modem? My pc does not have this port on, so can i use a Null cable modem to usb?
    4) Is the image i am trying to install a good one or bad one ?( i guess there is not straight answer to this) what is the best image to use in this situation?

I have two dboxes, only one so far as the kein system issue and maybe the other one can be corrected via IFA to install a working images? or is it best to just upload the image via FTP to it and let the box reboot?

P.S: i have rebooted the box using standby and up button which removed the kein system but still the IFA does not work, not doing anything

Thank you all for any kind of help you can bring.

    Regards
    Alex

If you have kien system you have no choice but to use IFA.

I never use a router, always connect straight from computer to box.

Have your dbox powered on, start IFA when IFA asks you to power on the box, power off and straight back on. You may need to repeat until you break the loading loop.

Do you mean you are using a null cable modem or crossover cable?

          Thanks!

I have finally installed Commando 11.3 via IFA ( i had to reboot few times in order to get the start of the loading)
The image is installed but i am not able to get the good channels, only FTA

I have installed bunch of keys, files to the bin, keys folder of the box

Can someone please tell me what files i need exactly and from where i can get them?

            Thanks a lot in advance

The files are all stored under var/Keys as the folder scce is a shortcut to keys folder
Files under bin are all set tp 755
              Is this correct?

Please let me know what i need to modify

              Thanks

I don't know where you got that C11.3 Image from, m8- but it doesn't look kosher to me...

miniops lives in /bin and NOT in /var/bin !!

                    Cheers- AL

Thanks, i downloaded C11.3 from here file name: Commando 11.3_x1_UkCvs_[1x].img

I have deleted the file miniops from var/bin and added it to /bin

Prior to that i have modified the file to: KEYFILE=/var/keys/SoftCam.Key as i am using only mgcamd, i cant find evocamd and keylist.txt anywhere.
When using gbox_support_pack_C11.3 i have the file softcam.key only

                        Anything i am missing?

                        Thanks
