EPG and Scanning question

Im new on this forum

Have 2 issues which may or may not be related
Im running Blade Trinity image on 2 boxes

Issue 1
EPG for some channels can be v.slow to load - or doesnt load at all
Issue gets worse over time
A reboot improves things but doesnt fix it
Where should EPG info be stored (setting in menu is currently blank)


Issue 2
My cable provider moves channels around. A rescan sometimes finds them again. But after a couple of rescans my image locks (goes read only except for the /tmp dir) - so its a reflash and start over

It has been suggested that I clean up any "junk" in my image to leave more space. What can I safely get rid of

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I have only a limited window to play with the boxes. The rest of the family will give me a fatal beating if I am still messing around when the football starts.

The epg is taken from the stream, its not stored on the box. Some images have a "restart EPG" option in the blue button menu somewhere which might help.

The locking up is not normal if all you are doing is a scan. Maybe try another image to see how that fairs. Some boxes can be funny and some images just dont run sweet.
