Dbox Losing channels

Hi

I am a complete novice to all this.

My dbox is slowly losing all the channels, by this I mean, I click on them and it says error. Whereas before I could view that channel.

I do not know how to scan for channels?

I've read various posts and am totally confused on images, .txt files, software etc?? What do I need to do? I am not a technically able person. I will need an idiots guide!

I am scared to touch it incase I loose anymore of the channels I have left.

It is working with about 50 channels, maybe less?? Before it was much more.

How can I get them back and even gain some that I may have already not had before?

what box/image are you running,also what area are you in?

I'm a little unsure on what you mean by image. Would DaVinci be what you need to know?

I'm not at home at the moment so don't know what type of box it is, or where to find that out. I could respond with this as soon as I get home though.

Really appreciating any help and whether I am able to update channel listings myself anytime I loose them.

Try blue button set location and scan. But some images are different.... Check later.... I'll be back

Hi

My laptop has died, so could not respond last night, sorry.

I pressed the blue button, selected location. There was no option for Gloucester, so chose Cheltenham instead. The dbox restarted.

At a brief look, the channels I had remain, although espn doesn't work and I though that did before. But I think I do not have any extra channels. Certainly the channels I have lost in the last month like the food channels, dave etc. have not come back. These, like many others, now say 'error-channel not available'.

I also have an issue with E4, the picture and sound stutters for some reason, actually the same for more 4 I noticed when trying to watch a jamie oliver programme on sunday night.

I checked the details of the dbox:

It is a Sagem Multimedia terminal DV3
Davinci version 2
Image type- snapshot

do you mean davinci 2x image? very important as to what box you have as to what image you use 1x /2x very important.....

anyway try changing ucode /cam in settings.....sagems can be iffy

sorry, this is how...just press blue button,then extras menu,ucodes, choose different one then save

Hi

I got to the Ucode Selection menu last night.

The options were:
Built in
UCode 001A
UCode 0014
UCode Vortex

I changed through all 3, which didn't seem to make any difference. The channels I'd lost previously, like the food channels, hadn't come back on any of them. The stuttering E4 channel was not better either.

I've left it on Built in.

Whether this is useful, i don't know. All UCode rebooted the Dbox apart from Vortex thatt didn't give the option to reboot afterwards.

Service scan

Hi,

To try a rescan do the following:
Press dbox on the remote and you should have an option called service (or similar) select this and there should be a menu option called service scan (or similar) select this and you will have a number of options to change, look for the following:
"Scan for services" set this to "tv only" or "tv&radio" (highlight scan for services and press ok to change)
"Bouquet" set this to "leave existing" and any new channels found will be placed in a bouquet called "other" or "unsorted"
"Cable provider" not sure what options you might have on this image but if you have "bruteforce" then select it , if not then post back the options you have.
"Fast scan" set this to off

Highlight start scan and press "ok" the scan should start but if you have selected bruteforce it will take quite a bit of time, once it is finished check your channels and post back.

Wen i got my box as standard it had the 2x davinci image , and that was about 3 years ago. to me it started losing channels aswell since virgin keeps changing the channel codes or w/e they called. I would recomend updating to one of the latest images which uses a rom7 to auto update itself and no need to keep updating your keys manually
