    Dbox 2 Stopped working

    Hi Guys,

I recently got hold of a dbox2 when it stopped working and would only pick up the FTV channels. What can I do to get the autoudate working again? (assuming that is what's wrong?) It stopped working about 3-4 months back. I managed to FTP into it but don't really have a clue with what im doing tbh.

try a re-scan on fast and bruteforce,or better still if you can press blue button and set location save and then scan....other than that maybe you just need the magic files ftp to your box.....what image comes on when booting up?

I tried to set the location, but when I go into the location menu for 'G' it searches and then reboots for some reason. what is a scan on fast or bruteforce?

            Hi m8,

You can get the magic files from here: Tools
The folders are named to asist in the transfer via ftp, simply put the contents of each folder in the corresponding folder on the dbox.
The contents of the emu and lib folders need to be chmod to 755, to do this right click on the file after transfer (dbox side) and select attributes and change the value to 755.

Once you have done this you need to activate the cam but as we don't know exactly which image you are on you will have to have a dig around the dbox menus looking for a referance to emu or cam (evocam).
Once you have activated the cam exit the menus and go to sky sports and wait for channel to clear(could take a few minutes) if nothing happens after say 5 mins reboot and try sky sports again.

            Best of luck

            Tommo

Press dbox select service select scan for services, then change provider to uk bruteforce and start scan.

Bruteforce scans all transponders and takes upto 45 mins.

Ok I'll give that a try when I get home. @Tommy, I tried that and some files would transfer and some won't. Also tried changing the permissions on those folders but it doesn't work. just gives me an error on the FTP client (Filezilla)

You need to change permissions on the individual files i.e evocam etc.
I use flashfxp without any issues.

my opinion is that flashfxp is the easiest ftp client not keen on filezilla!....chmod the attributes of libcrypto.so.o,evocamd,mgcamd to 755 when transfered to dbox side in ftp

I'll give it a try but some of the files are in different named folders, but are in there nonealess. it was working fine, but said I would fix this and saw a chance to learn about learning to mod these boxes.

There is also nothing in this folder so I suspect the files in here were not CHMOD'd correctly when they were first placed here, and then wiped during an update?

I am lost with the above!!?are you saying this happens when changing attributes?

When you send the files via FTP , libcrpt, emus to dbox .

Then on the same files dbox FTP side, right click. Select properties/ attributes and change to 755, and click save/ ok.

If this doesn't work it would be better to start over. M
