Channel surprise help

I was asked to re-flash a friends DBox2 for them as his hadn't been updated since the key roll changes. I managed to get a new image a while ago and my box has running great with what I thought was all the channels.

Rather than re-flash his using IFA I decided just to FTP my image over and use the remote to flash without Boot-loader for quickness. Before doing so I booted his up to check the network IP details to FTP. On doing so I was surprised to notice that although most of his channels were pooped/no longer available, he had working channels that my box didn't have. Most of which were the UKTV and Discovery channels.

These channels that were working on his box don't even appear after a proper scan with my image and settings.

Am I missing a Rom(s) or something else?
Any help appreciated with this one.

Back up your service and bow k s to your pc And do a rescan with your location Set,via the Blue button ..............Paul

Yeah I've done that matey but those particular channels still aren't showing up even after a scan, I think I'm missing something. Just not sure if it's cams or Roms or something. Any idea?

What image is on the box?
put a direct feed to it no splitters andturn fast scan off then red to save then do a slow scan see if it picks them up then.

I have no splitters, fast scan is off and I run a slow scan.

I have Laky Sylus Pro. It's a great wee image. Hoping I don't need to change it and perhaps I can just add a rom or something. The current roms are:

1. nagraepr7
2. nagraram7
3. nagrarom7
4. strom

Any further suggestions?

If its clearing some ppv channels it has nothing to do with the key files
its most probably a signal issue
press red then blue and post the ber,snr and sig readings.

The BER jumps from 340 to 520 to 650 and back and forth.
The SNR and SIG seem fairly steady.

(This means nothing to me I might add).

keys look ok....sounds like services file isnt up to date? try a different image like comm 11.3, then you can set cable provider to" cable uk" all service and not just sym?????mmmmm ? maybe

They look ok is there a lot of channels missing can you get his bouquet and services files of his box and ftp them to yours then in the service menu choose reload channel lists see if they work then.

I "redid" his box with my image to get it back to him as quick as possible (obviously without these additional channels). But I did save his Bouquet and services files first so I could have a look at them. I'll have a go at adding his services file to see what effect that has. I presumed that would leave me with his messed up settings.

Can I ask, I've realised with my image there is no option to "fast scan" to enable me to "slow scan" as you mentioned above Fergal. How would I do that on Lacky Pro?

Is it anything to do with Sections Scan?

Yeah pretty close. I could try that tomorrow. I'll post back with my findings. Thanks guys.

P.s. Can you shed any light on the Sections Scan thing?

Press the blue button and do the setmylocation feature then you should be able to do a fast scan

Sections scan keeps scanning in the background if its turned on and gives a popup message if a new channel is found.

Hi mate. Location set (which was already saved), I entered his services and bouquets files and the problems channels worked so I'm thinking I just need to update my services file with the working channels in his services file, real pain in the ass though.

I assumed any missing channels should just appear on a rescan but something is stopping them. I wonder what other channels I'm not getting that I don't know about If you can think of anything that will stop be having to do it all manually I would be much obliged.

check in the zapit folder for a myservices.xml. delete it.
