    DBox 2 - Steange Problem

    Hi,

I need some help with my Nokia Dbox 2. I consider myself to be fairly technically competent and have a pretty good understanding of the DBox, however I'm a bit stumped on this one - My DBox has stopped working and I can't find any examples of the same fault.

Basically I can't view any channels. I've tried various images with the updated nagrarom files and I still can't get the thing to display any channels; so I'm thinking tuner, but the box scans and finds all the channels (300 odd) and the Sig, SNR and BER all look normal.

On certain images the TV screen shows green momentarily when changing channels and then goes blank.

Any one come across a similar faults? Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

No I get no free to air channels - they get found ok and show on the EPG with program info. I assume the box thinks they are tuning in as I dont get a chennel not available message. AS for the keys, I'm sure they are there I have tried a load of different images and put the new keys in the folder and I have tried some new images with updated keys, but still the same problem.

I think that your dbox is ok.
chek if you use PAL system or to the system sweet to you location and if you use a dvb-c image and not the sat system.
also check the scart cable if it is ok.

          try a PB-enigma image.

Seen similar on a Nokia before, turned out to be a problem with the scart socket . Try moving your scart cable to the other socket. You could also try an image that has the TV on LCD feature to check that the box receives and decodes a signal.

I don't think its a scart problem as i have checked the lead and tried both sockets. All the menus, epg etc, boot screens etc display fine. I'll have a look at the tv on lcd thing - not come across that feature before so will certainly give that a go.

have u got a null modem serial cable, if so use dbox boot manager and get a bootlog, this may tell u something......but i think u maybe right with your first prognosis, could be the demodulator part of the tuner.....

A friend of mine had a similar problem and it was a simple leakage on his cable line. Check your cables are on nice and tight matey.
