    Dbox and vlc

    Hi guys, Im trying to set up vlc with the dbox, following all the instructions as per the sticky...but when I try to view movies on the movieplayer it says, connect failed...do I have to do anything on vlc for dbox settings ie ip of dbox or anything Im missing.
    and does this work via router.

      Just set it up as you would for Flashing
      Acsess can be gained via a router or direct
      Via a crossover cable
      Recomend you use the Latest version of Vlc
      Audio still aprob on PPv Channels
      OK on FTE Though............Paul

        Hi plasterer

        Thats the problem m8...I can do all the normal stuff via this computer ie flashing etc...but when I try to use movieplayer it just say's connect failed...checked all the settings for streaming and their fine...even got the latest version of VLC but cant seem to get it going...anyone else got these probs?

          On vlc settings
          Go into Preferances
          Stream output
          And tick them all Try it then .....Paul

            Still not working m8...ah well I'll keep trying if I get any joy will let you know.

              when you go to movieplayer, are you getting the list of films up, or is that where its saying its failed?

                You need to create a shortcut to vlc on your desktop,then right click on the shortcut and select properties,then add this to the end of what it says in the target box " --extraintf=http --sout-transcode-fps 25 " without the quotes but there is a space at the begining.
                Then save/apply,now when you want to stream click the vlc shortcut on the desktop and leave it running then do as you did with the movieplayer before.

                  Yes DavC when I click on movieplayer the next page is when the connect fail comes up.

                    Have you been into network settings
                    And Mounted you network in the correct dirrectory mnt/ c/movies
                    Have you got the c/movies folder shared
                    Run VLC befor starting
                    And start movies in VLC
                    On your D Box.....Paul

                      Thanks plasterer...this done the trick m8...can see see the files when I go into movieplayer.
