    Check Flash Type

I am looking to flash a friends Dbox. Before doing my own, ages ago, I used "Check Flash Type" to determine how many chips it had. Now when I come to use this again it doesn't respond.
I'm using Vista and I have placed mswinsck.ocx in System 32 folder and registered it but when I click connect after entering Dbox IP address nothing happens, what am I missing?

If you have a torch and a keen eye, you should be able to make it out through the vents. What make of box do you have?

I would give it a quick open mate then you'll defo know how many chips in it or just flash it and when you get KEIN SYSTEM you know you've got the wrong image on it.

Thanks for your replies. Turned out it was a Nokia box which I believe are all 2x. Anyway his was! I wanted to avoid the Kein system at all costs so a suck it and see approach was not for me. I use FTP to update Dbox, this is a very simple and quick method. If Dbox becomes "Kein system" then its all the messing about with serial cables, IFA etc etc.
