    Unable to connect using flashfxp

Hi guys. Sorry, i'm new to all of this but have spent the last week trying to source all the info to get my dbox2 up and running again.

Think I'm just about there. Have downloaded the new files needed and all I need to do is connect my PC to the Dbox2.

Have followed instructions from the excellent guides. but neither dbox or dbox2 appears to be recognised as the password. I just get connection failed or refused as an answer.

Anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

    Cheers

Hi Paul, thanks for your reply.

It's a sportster image, I'm using root as the username and have tried dbox and dbox2 as passwords(all as in the FlashFXP guide). I have only entered one ip address, my dbox ip.

You Need to Change the IP of your network card to 1 below the ip of the D Box
Or it will not connect .......Paul

its most likely the set up ov the network.
ensure that you change your connection setting such as disable firewall and under lan settings you clear the boxes such as QoS packet sched. As paul stated ensure that the network is one below...... ie if your box is 192.168.0.12 then put in the network setting computer to be 192.168.0.11. THIS IS CRUCIAL!
You cant disguise the smell ov Poo - - But you can sprinkle it with glitter!

I dont think its not crucial at all....my PC is 192.168.1.2 and box 192.168.1.24 and never had any poblems either flashfxp or ifa

I would recomend ( may be crucial !) that they are both in the same domain ie 192.168.1.xxx and the dbox has a higher last ip digit number though than the pc.

              Yes mate you are correct
The box will connect as long as the last digit is within Range

                Guys

Thanks for all your help but I still cannot connect.

I click the lightening bolt, I get Quick Connect

On the general tab I have

                HISTORY
                SERVER OR URL
                USER NAME
                PASSWORD
                REMOTE PATH

I have been entering my dbox2 IP in SERVER OR URL
I have entered 'root' in USERNAME
I have tried 'dbox' and 'dbox2' in PASSWORD
I haven't entered anything in REMOTE PATH

I have disabled my firewall. All I get is Connection Failed (Connection Refused).

Any ideas? What am I doing wrong?

or the 10 may be anything from 2-255

                      give that a try m8

Hi mate, here is how my Dbox 2 is setup so I can connect via ftp, it works flawlessly.

                          1. Set your DBox2 to retrieve an ip via DHCP

                          2. Set your Router up to assign a specific ip address to your DBox 2 MAC Address. Just like having a static ip (You can do this with most routers)

                          3. Enter the ip address you chose for your DBox 2 in the flashxp client with your DBox 2 username and password.

Should connect no problem at all

                          Hope this helps ;-)

                            Sort of success!

I have managed to flash Blade_Quad image to my Dbox2. Initially, I had the channels but no picture not even FTA.

I changed my location setting to my local (Northampton NTL) and started a scan.

Now all I get after about 10 seconds is 'No channels were found. Please execute a scan'.

So I run a scan again and the same message appears after about 10 seconds.

                            Any ideas?
