Dbox2 - no channels/ Error Channel not available???

Hi guys, box has gone off again, got all channels on epg but all have a blank screen, when selecting a channel will say waiting for time under channel name then just say channel not available, although all channels say FTA in bottom corner still? cant even get freeview? any help or ideas on problem much apprieciated!!! Thanks

i had a the same problem with a mate's box, it wouldn't work at all in his house but that very same box worked in my house straight away.. not sure what could be causing this.. are you subscribed to any services..?

hi thanks for the reply yes have bb sub and also eurovox box in other room which is working fine on either connection, tried couple known working images still no luck?? just blank screen, been reading through threads and believe SNR level has to be 55000+ mine coming back at 44300? does any1 know if this is a tuner problem? thanks in advance

most likely a tuner issue. try removing any splitters so you have a direct feed to box.If you get channels back then its likely you have a weak tuner. check cabling /connections,try a booster.
If box was previously working ok it may be worthwhile trying different ucodes

hi thanks for the reply tried all still no luck, think will just buy a new one see if can get a few quid on ebay as spares/repairs, dont fancy trying to put in a new tuner, you have to solder it in ive been told?? anyway cheers mate, advice much apprieciated!!!

Try a booster from argos slx1p 8.99 if it dont work you can get a full refund
If it's a nokia it's most probably the bfg94 chip in the tuner piece of pi$$ to replace and only cost a couple of quid but check the bootlog to make sure its not another hardware fault.

how do you check the bootlog..? does it create txt file anywhere on the system..? where if needed can you get spare tuner parts from..??

Hi i have a sagem 1x box it plays up like yours it say waiting for time normally a goosed tuner i got it working using v++ image i just turn it off and on till it start showing correct time and works

how easy is it to install a tuner, i read in the earlier post do you need to soldier it in... looks like a pci card..

If the box worked ok in one house but not another, even though it had a live feed there it try what zaf said, if that dont work If i remember rightly the pacino V1:0 was good for weak signals, as well as either cyro sportster or nextgen 19. I have these on pc but they are old images and will needs keys/roms adding

tuner has maybe 30 pins or so to desolder, i tried to do one a ~~~~ed a couple of the mainboard tracks around the pins. have a look here about chnaging the resistor
