Problems putting dbox into debug

Hello everyone, i have flashed quite a few boxes in the past, but never put a dbox into debug mode. i have recently bought one on the cheap, however i have come unstuck already. I have a Nokia 2x Intel BMon 1.0 box, bootmanager, null modem cable, xover cable and a ppcboot file. I have read numerous stickies on the subject. After the following step i am getting an error message and the program terminates.

9600 Baud on Com 1 and PPCBoot then click start

Then i get the error message - COULD NOT START PACKET DRIVER C1

Has anyone come across this before?

i used this method, no probs, except an electric shock while connecting the wire.......

Thanks for the quick reply mate, will have a look. From what i have read you should not have to short the circuit board on the Nokia 2x Intel BMon 1.0. But hey its worth ago if it gets me further than i am know.

i did a nokia and this method worked fine.....

give it a go should be ok

if you read the tutorial properly version 1:0 is the more difficult way which requires you to hit the reset point. I found the easiest was to do it from the underside of box at hole 8 for pin12 flash reset. Instead of using just a wire, what i done was earth wire to chassis of box, to other end of i taped a small watchmaker screwdriver. I know you are working blind this way, but with box powered down poke in screwdriver and have a feel around to get the feel of it.I found it was alot easier this way, rather than doing it from the top with just the wire end. hope this helps

connect yr box to yr modem directly and then follow instructions from bootmanager u should be able to get to debug

I have a bit of sat cable with about 2inches of the core wire at each end
showing make a ring at on end to fix with a case screw to dbox case
with the other end use to short holding outter part of cable (no shock)
hope ths may help

got 2 do it short circuit method its best take lid of the box and do it that way as its very unlikely u`ll make a c**t of it

did you manage to sort this problem out?
i myself have the same problem with the same message and its doing my head in.
ive read endless guides but just not getting anywhere.
ill try reading the files the kind posters have posted on here earlier once im able to access it.

Go into the pc bios and turn "hyperthreading technology" off then save and exit.

it worked a treat and i managed to boot the dbox from the pc so thanks
but now am faced with yet another problem. i hold the up arrow until the numbers show then i connect the short wire to the flash point until i get the 5 bars in between after which i let go of the button and remove the short wire. but at this point im supposed to be able to type in the com window but i cant. what am i doing wrong now?

You have to use both crossover cable and F/F nullmodem cable together
did you get the box to go into the "reset" loop first and you have it pointing to the ppcboot file in dboxmanager top right window in settings.

i got it sorted thanks fergal.
i was being a bit dim. i did do it correctly and i was able to type in the com box. i only noticed after i adjusted the manager window i could see what i was typing. (the scrolls buttons weren't showing everything).
so im sorted thanks
and big thanks to you fergal.
i just gave up and didn't once read anywhere that hyper threading needed to be turned off
