back up image problems

hello all
just trying to back up my image,havent tried for ages,anyway i have done all the bits on the box but when i connect using flash the mtd img is not there
i looked in var/temp and nothing also in temp folder
i have tried several times but it aint showing
any advice much appreciated

It puts it in /tmp not var/tmp also dont reboot the box after you have backed it up as this will delete the image from the/tmp folder.

i was tried 10 times but its not showing upchecking temp first and couldnt find it and then read somewhere on here that by default it goes in var/temp
anyway i checked temp first and its not there,,

transfered files over no problem at all,,just cant seem to get the img file

Reboot the box to empty the /tmp folder then back the image up read one partition and flash without bootloader
now DONT reboot the box just ftp into it and go to /tmp it should be in there called mtd3.img

i have had this img for ages and no probs,havent got any now but wanted to back it up

Transfer your bouquets file to your pc then transfer it back to the box if it lets you overwrite the one on the box
back the image up then post a screen shot of the /tmp folder.

just to let you know i tried again and now for some strange reason the img is in there,,done exactly the same as before
1 more quick question,,to save the cams i cant transfer the whole folder,do i open it up and transfer each file individually ? theres about 6 in there
