Keys and Roms - Sorry!!

Hi all

I have a working box although it does freeze from time to time - usually at a point in a film or footy game that you really don't want to miss!! Usually a qick up and down on the channels sorts it though.

I would like to flash a new image on it to play with - if I copy the contents of the /var/scce "ROM" files and also the "KEY" files from /var/keys to my laptop then ftp them back after the flash will this work??

My box is a Sagem 2x so any suggestions for stable images would appreciated!!

you will need to have a back up of your keys and roms handy at all times.

try changing the cams, try each one see it that helps, If not try the Lacky Pro image,

It wont work mate i tried same thing and had all sorts of trouble!! u need to down load a keypack for the new inage that your going to flash.

Oh yes it will work the files you will need are not image specific.

Back up your keyfolder, scce is just a symlink to keys the keyfolder should contain the roms as well as the keys. Back up your emu, evocam or mgcam you only need the one you use. Backup your service and bouquet xml's from var/tuxbox/config/zapit.

Also do a back up of your image press dbox/service/expert functions/back up one partition/flash without boot loader it will save to the temp folder copy it to your pc then if anything goes wrong you can flash it back. If your image hasn't work since april you will need the updated rom 7.

Where do you put your roms? do you have a scce folder? What image are you using?

roms go in my scce folder keys go in keys folder i dont cross them mine works fine

Most new images don't have a scce folder everything goes in the key folder and there is a shortcut in var called scce to the keys folder. Either way will work.

where did all this scce come from? ive never transfered any files to this non-existant folder,....as TBM has stated this is a symlink to the key folder.....
see the arrow on the folder

click on the scce folder in flashfxp and see where it takes you.....to the key folder

Used to be in older images and dreambox images to be honest havn't seen an actual folder in an image for a while. Tidier to just put a shortcut in var. What image are you using red.
