Lots of people could help you but this thread is about FTP which will help you , but you need to ask question in your own thread you will get more views. With a more specific question eg: details of present setup etc....

This guide was done for the DM, so i've just changed the wording for the Dbox.
i've not used a Dbox for a while and I'm doing this from memory, so if there's any mistakes let know and I'll amend them.

                **additional info**
if you are connecting to the Dbox using a crossover cable this info might help..[/B][/I]

to turn off DHCP on the dbox
                Dbox>setting>network
turn off DHCP and set the IP address when your in there to
                IP -192.168.1.10
                Sub - 255.255.255.0

                on the laptop/PC
my network place>View network connections>right click on your lan connection and go to properties.
click on internet Protocol (TCP/IP) so it highlights then click on properties.
green dot 'use the following ip address' and put in there
                IP -192.168.1.11
                Sub - 255.255.255.0
                and ok that,

before you start, turn off all your anti virus/spyware programs and turn off windows firewall. now reboot the Dbox with the crossover cable connected to the Dbox and PC.
                then follow the guide...

                            Hi all.
I guess i`m the only man in universe with this problem:
my DB7000s was working fine with diseq, then i put it on motor and also worked fine,i could communicate with DB via FTP,upload, edit lists... Now i moved away and i put it again on diseq.

Also works fine except one small problem, i can`t connect to DB via crossover cable annymore. When i try to connect with FlashWizardPro i says "unable to establish connection, check connection parameters" but i haven`t changed anything on DB since last time i used FWpro, and it worked fine back then... i tried to change IP adresses few times, same answer...pinged laptop and it was ok,pinged DB an it says destination host unreachable.

Any suggestions for step nr.1? i have crossover cable, i`ll have null modem cable in a few weeks(no shop on the island) and i can connect DB with ethernet cable(if it helps).

                              After some head scratching

After spending some hours I finally managed to get filezilla working. After reading through different posts I discovered that it was my wireless connection that was causing the connection problem. Once I disabled my wireless it connected to the dbox no problem. I altered my ethernet cabled to a cross over cable. Google convert cable to xover from patch and it works. Need to ensure that DHCP is off on box. Note I have put this on a dbox which hasn't worked for a few years. Just transfer the file (Magic files) to the corresponding folders on the dbox, reboot scan and happy days. Easy as pie. Thanks DK and all members

PS password for Commando image is commando and not dbox. User name is still root
                              Enjoy
