sportster image

Hi guys

I have laky pro on my dbox2 at the moment and due to constant picture freeze I want to change it to sportster, i have the above image but have no idea how to flash across to dbox, is it simple to do using flashXP????

I have read through the sticky post on using hyper terminal but wondered if it cam be done using flashxp and if so how do i go about it???

Sorry for question pal but it needs to be asked.

Do you know how to ftp, if so then its easy and I can explain, but if not then I will need to link you to a guide to ftp.

Its easy then.

bear with me as i dont know the Sportser menu.

FTP the new image to /tmp folder on the dbox

With your remote control go to.

dbox
service
this is were it differs
expert functions or image backup/flash
flash one partition
flash without bootloader
a pop appears, pick the new mage you ftp'ed
press red to flash

thats it, if the expert functions part is wrong then post back what the options are and we will sort it.

As for a beter image, its personal choice just, I was just curious as to why you went from Laky to Sportster image.

i was having real probs with picture freezing on laky pro, could prob get about ten mins of viewing before freeze, was recommended sportster by a friend who has it and has no probs, and im sure im tempting fate by saying this but so far so good, no freeze on new os

flash image

Hi,Jaffa can i flash another image in to my dbox or do i have to delete my original one first with all the files associated with it ?

Do you have a working image m8, if so then ftp the keys folder and the services and bouquet files to your pc 1st.

Then ftp the new image to the dbox and place it in /tmp

You can then flash it with your remote. You dont need to delete anything 1st.
