Eurovox 2 remote problem

My mate has flashed his EV2 with the new firmware , now the remote control won't work.
He's tried the origional remote, one off a ev max blue & max v , any ideas?

Flash box with blue clone update then new remote should work

I've tried that , still no joy, I was wondering if the infrared receiving eye is faulty, i'll see if I can get one off an old sky box or something!

point the remote at your camera phone and if u see a red light its working

I've already tried that & double checked it on a remote control tester (it does infra red & radio ), everything works ok!
