When you get it you will first need to flash it, to do this you will need a null modem cable, a usb to null modem cable (if you have a newer computer) and the firmware to load on to it, which is available in the downloads section. Once flashed, you then scan with the correct settings and away you go.

              EX5100 Help

Hi - Ive just ordered a EX5100 and will be running the feed from a current V+ connection will this affect my signal strength?.
Also all the help files point me towards the EX5000, has the EX5100 superseeded this box and are the instruction/guides/symbol rates still valid?

              Thanks

When you scan make sure you scan from the main feed, After the initial scan it won't matter if you use a splitter. The ex5100 was brought out after the ex5000 due to clones being made of the 5000. The guides and symbol rates remain the same, However you will need to flash it with the ex5100 firmware.
