    Help needewd with Eurovox

Hi. I have purchased a null-modem cable to download the eurovox ex1000sl firmware to box. I am really really lost and would appreciate some help.

I connected the cable feed to the box and rigged the box up to the tv. And I connected the box to the computer via the null-modem cable. When I tried to download the software to the box it requested that I slect COM port3. I dont even know what that means. And once I selected start, it just said waiting for a connection from reciever. Please please help .

If all else fails I am going to take it to some guy who does the job for ?10. But wanted to do it myself as the last once he did for me ended up with the box being wiped out completely.

    Thanks for reading

remove you eurovox from the tv and have it connected to the pc only. then switch the box on and place it on to standby (red light). then using the latest firmware: Digital Kaos - Downloads - Eurovox 1000SL UK Fix 011208 click start and it should automatically recognise which com port the box is connected up to. it should only take a minute or so to flash the box. then you can disconnect from the pc and connect back up to your tv.

thanks for the link. Can you confirm if all I need to do is upload the firmware onto the box and plug into the cable line to get the channels.

no. you'll have to do a factory reset then a power scan

Hmmmm. It seems to be doing th sae thing. I select com port 3. It just displays the message 'waiting for the response of your reciever' and does nothing.

Do I have to key anything into the 'channel data' box. Or do I have to do something else with the file I have downloaded. Thanks in advance

@SDC Please take a look here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-eurovox-9786/ pay attention to setting up your Comm port.

@sunnyboy read the red stickies at the top of the page and you will find all you need. Also in future if you have a query please read a few threads first and if you are stuck post a thread of your own, thank you.
