Setting up my Eurovox 5100 PVR

    Hi All
New to the site; bought a Eurovox PVR 5100 last week and just wanted to run a put a few things out there to see if anyone can assist ... general queries.

Ive done the satalite scan and it comes up with 140 Channels - is this right?

I have sports and movies tuned in now, Can I tune in FX? (or anyother channels?)

It doesnt seem to allow me to record and watch another channel - even if I pre-set the recording - anyone else seen this and is it standard?

If I was to split the cable as it comes into the house and run a seperate cable to another room and buy another 5100 should the 2nd box work ok while the 1st box is on?

    Any other tricks and tips?

All replies and advise is much appreciated!

      Hi,

I have the 5000 of this range and can answer a couple of your questions :

Record one channel why watching another - Not possible. You have to have the box tuned to the channel you are recording, it does not have dual tuners!

Running another box off a splitter. Yes you can do that, no problem. That is the set-up I have - one in the lounge, one in the bedroom!

      Cheers

I see in your other post you say you are in Ireland. So your channel amount is correct, you cannot received FX via cable in Ireland.

Yes you can watch another channel when recording another as long as its on the same transponder eg if you record bbc1 you can only watch bbc news or bbc2 because its on the same transponder. My advice would be to write down the transponder frequencies for all channels then you would know what you could watch.
