    Eurovox EX1000 Signal problem

Hi - I purchased the EX1000 last week and almost ended up throwing it out of the window. It kept coming up with "bad or no signal" then when we got a picture it would break up. Signal strength was coming in at over 83 - tried different attenuators without much success and now trying a variable attenuator which seems to be doing the trick. Signal is ranging from 78 - 81 and picture seems to be staying stable on most channels at the moment. However, I do have a problem with everything that comes in on frequency 730 - eg Sky Sports 1 & 3. These channels have a signal of 77% and are all over the place. Sky Sports 2 working perfectly at 80% Tried manually adjusting frequency but hasn't made one bit of difference. Is there anything else I can try to get these channels coming through better?

    hi

what area do you live in - this is starting to happen to a number of EuroVoxes - this is also happening to me

the signal strength from virgin has become too strong it keeps fluctuating - they are doing this due to the 50mb broadband rollout - theres nothing you can do till the signal is stable

would just say keep adjusting the attenuator till this is resolved

There is new firmware, (dated 24/02/09), released for both the EX1000 and EX5000, that is supposed to remedy the signal problem.

You will find it on the usual toolbars. I have not put either in downloads yet, (as they have come from somewhere other than usual), and as I haven't tried it on my own boxes as of yet but will do now. I wouldnt like to see others with dead boxes, well at least I will be the only one with dead boxes to put it another way But elsewhere people have said they are fine.

If they are OK I will up them.

Hi - Thanks for the info. I live in North Manchester area so would be interested to hear if others in the area are having the same problem.

I have updated the firmware links here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...firmware-9787/ there are two revisions for the EX1000. One with auto sort enabled and one without.

Both have the booster option now in config, so may be worth a try.

Hi There - I scanned my box with the latest firmware two weeks ago - The picture had been working good - I got home from work yesterday and all the channels were saying no or bad signal - I also have a variable attenteur - I have re-scanned the box several times and it's only installing about half the channels and the picture is horrible - The quality strength says about 79% - Can anybody help me!!

you should at least get the menu, if you cant get that far you may have a dodgy box. As for the Manchester issue no fix for it atm so if you live in the Manchester area you may not get any channels even with a working box.
