do i just need a usb stick to download the firmwire on? i mean just say i want to update it do i have to get the firmwire from here and put it in my eurvox or do i need a null cable aswell as a memory stick?

The firmware once you have flashed with it will AU so no need for keys. And yes whenever there is a firmware update you can flash via USB.
