Eurovox woes

Hi I am a newbie, I know that too many people will scoff at my iognorance. But i have tried to download the new firmware but the box says it cant find the hardware. i have installed new driver and have followed the advice about switching on at the correct time. putting on stand by or having the power on . i dont know what to do next. Dont know how to resolve this.
If anyone isnt watching the footy then a reply would be great.

cheers. i have a eurovox ex5000pvr. Have just downloaded version 2.00 from a link on this site. It just says searching for device when i say download.
I am confused

actually says "waiting for response of your receiver"

are you flashing box with null modem cable m8

have you got right firmware

av you put correct symbol rate in box

make sure all conections are tight and switch the box off and on and are you clicking the right download btn its the 1 at the top

if you have the right firmware and cables then "waiting for response of your receiver" could mean that the pc is not using the correct com port that the reciever is using and therefore will not link up. normally the ports are 1-4 you will need to check that the cable on your pc is connected to one of these ports using device manager.
