Hi all, I have an old laptop HDD, can I put it in the 5100 and will the box format/erase the disk as it contains a load of crap??? or will it read the disk ???

m8 what is the make and size of the HDD. I think only up to 120gb is good for the EX5100.
If you got nothing to loose, clear and format to FAT and stick it in and see how it goes. I dont think it will do any harm.
