Null modem is bollox on my laptop.

I though a eurovox was easier to settup that a dbox? It aint even got an ethernet port, which is how ive always flashed with a crossover.

IFA crashes with my cable, and eurovox doesnt work. The cable seems to work in hyper terminal ok, so why not in other software?

I presume it would all be sweet, with a tower PC or even a 10 year old pc with a standard rs232 port. But i just aint got access to a normal pc. Can you use null modem, straight from an old mouse port rs232, or does it have to have a network card in pc? Surely i shouldnt be having problems with a laptop comm port these days.

I dont have a laptop but my brother has and he uses a USB2 to RS232 converter .

Im wondering if they have give men a straight through cable, instead of a crossover. I will have to buy another or do the pcmcia root. more gambling money tho.

quite possible as both cables are identical,as i dont know euro have u identified correct box and correct file?

yes mate, but its failing to copy. Ive loaded drivers, followed the guides etc. It just stops on 90% on s/w and says download is failed...
