i have downloaded the firmware - did a power scan and it searched and loaded all the channels but can't change channels on the box - box is showing 0000

Shows "0000" normally when channels are not there - are you sure the channels have downloaded?
Did you scan the correct symbol rate for your area?

downloaded the firmware from a Sticky thread - said it was succssful, put the box back on to tv and did power scan, it showed all the searching and channelss (tv and radio) said was saving data but can't alter the 0000's

The channels haven't loaded proper.
First do a clear data/factory reset, then scan using the correct symbol rate for your area.
