hard drive

is there something ishould do with e vox 5100 ,because when i insert hd in slot and try to record it comes up no hard drive or hd full, also in manual it says attatch tape to hard drive? v confused.

Hi afterhours, firstly the tape is is for sticking on the top of the hard drive so that you can use it to pull the hard drive out.Just stick it on with about an inch sticking out to pull on.Secondly, if you press pvr button on remote it will say hard drive not working if you have nothing to preview. only use this buton to stop recording, or to look at and play library. just press the record button, record something and then try it. hope this helps

you need to record something about 5 minutes long and leave it on the hard drive always. be aware that to record for the first time it may take up to 5 mins to actually start the recording.
