Newbie - Eurovox Question

Hi guys

probably been asked a million times before, I have been reading up on Eurovox boxes to hook up to Virgin Media.

do I need to use a splitter?, or do i just go straight into the cable connection at the wall?.

unsure!!?!

Mine is on a splitter but it can be done straight from the wall. Its actually better straight of the wall

a splitter prevents the box being detected does it not?

also is Sky Sports available one its all flashed and scanned in?

no a splitter lets you use your subed box alongside your eurovox it is always better to have your vm box on line yes you will get sky sports

I will get a splitter and run my VM box alongside.

I will be purchasing shortly, have had a look at the step by step guides and seems pretty straightforward to flash and set up.

Hi, Have you got a virgin media cable connection. Thats really it. Its a good idea going for the eurovox because those and the starview ones are quite easy to set up when compared to the dreamboxes,dboxes etc. If you just want to hook up the eurovox without vm broadband then a splitter will not be required.

also you could try ebay they seem come up occasionally on there. If you buy one make sure you check whether its a genuine or a clone. There are quite a lot of clones for eurovoxes that look similar to the real ones however the clones will require clone safe firmware.

I would recommend not buying off ebay as there are too many clones. You could ask the seller if it's a clone and I can guarantee that they'd all say no. There are plenty of websites that are known to sell only genuine - skywonder for example. There are others too, just search the forum to find out.

You can buy off ebay if you want, but you do so at your own risk and it could end in heartache.

Sorry when you do your first scan if you do it straight off the wall you make sure that all channels are scanned. Afterwards if you put it on splitter it should still have all the channels

yes once the channels are on the box should not make a difference using a splitter
