ex 7000 cant get it to flash, help required.

I cant get this ex7000 to flash, downloaded the file, re named it, put it in the box, but nothing happened, said booting up and a station came up that's all, put it on the TV it said could not find the file.
If you can help please give full easy instructions stage by stage,
as to what i should see on the LCD box screen and what do do next thanks.
yes i have read all the threads before asking for help.

Hi m8 you say you (downloaded the file, re named it) did you unpack it and rename the flash not the file flash.tbn the lcd should say found flash extracting then start to count down when finished it will reboot

Did unpack it (the zip file ) did re name it, lcd did not say found flash, am i doing something wrong ? thanks.

can you get hold of another memory pen i have read quite a few people having problems with faulty ones

Got new memory pen, said found usb then shows on lcd
sct_in0000000b then i rebooted then station came back, did not flash.

turn it off via the switch on the back.
usb pen in.
turn it on via the switch on the back. it should now start to flash

Is the memory pen formatted to Fat32. Can you record to the usb memory stick from 1 of the channels you have. Once you are sure it is formatted and working it should flash. You say you have unzipped it and renamed the unzipped file flash.tbn which is spot on. Switch on ex7000 put usb memory stick in then switch off using the power switch at rear of unit, switch back on and your lcd screen on front of unit should start counting down showing progress of flashing. If that does not work you could have a faulty box, good luck.

Thanks for that, it just wont work whatever i do, ive given up now, i can post it back, cost pp ?10 return to me charge ?25 so it will cost ?35 to send it back under guarantee, some guarantee ?

You can flash this box using a USB pen or a null modem cable.

A good quality usb pen formatted to FAT 32 will do the job m8.
