Losing channels before xmas?

I've heard that the virgin are doing something that will mean we lose all the channels. This is supposed to happen before xmas.

Has anyone else heard this rumour and can we do anything to combat this?

i'll be asking santa for a satellite setup and local cs server

tbh there's no point speculating, i've heard the same rumours on many forums a lot this year, when it happens it happens, i'll be just as gutted as everyone else after spending ?150 on a EX1100 and an external HDD, but there really is nothing we can do, it's been a lot of fun and we've had a good run at it, 8 years is a long time for a company not to patch a vulnerability (unless your microsoft )
