    Newbie problems

Hello, I am new to this site and this is my second attempt at posting. Appearently I responded to a thread with a question so won't do that again - sorry!!

Anyway, I have been on the site and regeistered since Oct 12th when I first introduced myself. I have read through many threads and can't find an answer to my problem. I have looked on the internet and contacted magicbox.uk who sold me my Eurovox 5100 pvr.

To make a long story short every night, after 8pm or later, my eurovox channels become distorted like the digital pixels are messed up and this affects the sound to. I do a deep scan, unplug the box and let it cool, detach the cables for 30 seconds or so, etc but every night it happens again and always in the evening after 8pm or 9pm? A few hours later, around 1am, it stops and seems to work ok again.

Does anyone know what causes this or more importantly how to fix it.

If I have posted this wrong again I apologise in advance. I have read the welcoming messages and followed the directions but I am not very good at this sort of stuff and have never signed up to a site before. This site looked like the best one from all the reading I used to do. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are in a weak signal area. When all the connections from the street cab are in use and in particular you are the furthest home away from the cab and/or your term is down low in the cab you will see what you are getting now.

I have also seen this when you have someone illegally, (leeching), from your feed or a nearby one.

You could try a booster to see if it helps. What are your signal quality levels when it drops out. Pressing info twice should give this to you.

Have you got a subbed box, (VM box), if so does that have similar problems or does it remain unaffected?
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas Adams
