    Eurovox EX7000

    Hi all

Really glad i have found this great site for help so thank you in advance!!

I've had a Starview 2 box now for a while and its been great - i am with Virgin Media in the Midlands and never had any probs - had to update the software a few times when the codes kept changing but have well and truly had my monies worth!

I am looking to upgrade to a Eurovox EX7000 for the HD and recording.

My questions are these - where is the best place to buy one from on the Net? is this forum sponsored by someone - if so i will order from there as this support is well appreciated. Also - can i use a USB stick for the recording and if so whats the recommended minimum size? is there a guide for number of hours recording time for number of gigs? I have also read that some usb sticks arent great - can anyone recommend a size and manufacturer?

And lastly - i see the software is on hear to reflash the box, do i simply download the software, rename it, add it to a usb stick, put the stick in the machine, turn it on, it recognises the update, installs it and then i do a deep scan and find all channels??

Your help to a eurovox newbie would be appreciated!!

Hi You have almost all the answers, forget using a pen drive to record it will last no time at all, get an external hard drive boxed with a usb and you will get hundred of hours recoding depending on size, cant help you on buying one but someone will advise I'm sure,

ex7000 is just as you describe above...put usb stick in the back of the box and turn off and on (from the button on the back)...then just rescan (Deep Scan) from the main input of the house and you're on your way.

A little tip here...if you scan after 7pm then FX HD aswell as a few other channels that arent' open during the day will also show up...if you scan whilst a channel is off air it won't find it.
