    Eurovox Installation Problems

Hi, Im a novice at this sort of thing and am having difficulty flashing my eurovox 1100. I have bought a female to female null modem cable but when I plug it in to both the box and my laptop im not presented with connection confirmation on my laptop. Also, when i turn on the eurovox as per guide instructions - I am not seeing the '--' on the front display. So far all I have connected to the box is the null modem cable from the laptop and the scart lead from my cable box to the eurovox. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanx

Hi m8, just use a USB pen formatted to FAT32. It will be much easy.

(for the null modem cable, you will need the USB adaptor also)

Newbie pulling whats left of his hair out

Hi all, ive been trying to install the firmware onto my ex1000usb for the last 4 hours after reading hundreds of posts but still cant get it onto the box.

The last box i had was already firmware ready so all i did was plug it in scan and off i went but with this new box im really struggling

When i go to tools in the menu it wont let me opt for upgrade by usb only by RS232. Iv also tried following the guide for newbies (like myself) but in the Record box it doesnt let me opt for HDD format the only choice i have is usb disk status.

Does anyone know where im going wrong?

          Cheers

I don't have an EX1000 but on my EX7000 I just had to put the .bin firmware file on the ROOT of the USB stick (make sure the filename is exactly the same) and then started up the box (i.e. turned the power on with the main power switch on the back) with the USB drive connected. This caused the box to automatically load the firmware.
