Eurovox EX1100 USB PVR

Hi There,
One of my frnd is a vmed!@ cust and wants to buy a new Eurovox EX1100 USB PVR. Is it fine to buy this model from eurovox.org. Are there firmwares available for this model? If not which model should I buy & from where?
Is it recommended to buy a splitter to keep both boxes (vmed!@ set-top box & eurovox box) connected at all the times?

Timely help will be greatly appreciated.

Someone help please... I've installed the new eueovox Ex1100 USB - scaned it and everything but it just says scrambled on the screen Wat do i need to do now????

download this new firmware. save it in Usb dont make any sub folders in USB just the main root save it there. turn your box power off insert the USB and now power on, the box will auto detect the USB. press menu, tools, update by usb, there you will see the file u have uploaded to usb. make sure the mode is S/W the press the red button to load. after thats done. go to menu>tools>factory settings, delete all channels and in the same menu restore to factory settings. then do a power scan ( deep scan by pressing the green button) press ok and it will start to scan all the channels. and your UP and Running Mate i did it today myself works like a charm Just EPG is not so good rest is kewl..

freezing box

when i uploaded new firmware my box began to freeze all the time can anyone help me stop this

I’ve got this box and have to admit that I was very apprehensive after reading all of the negative reviews. So far it has been almost flawless apart from the EPG being less then perfect but it does have a limited functionality. The picture quality is quite good and apart from one freeze up it’s worked really well.

I’ve got the latest firmware installed and it runs really well so I think the negative feedback is a bit over the top unless I have just gotten lucky and picked up a good box. I have to say that the ability to record to a memory stick or external HD is an excellent benefit which outweighs the EPG being less than perfect.
