usb undetected 7000hd

hi all, bought a 1tb buffalo drivestaion 2.0 usb for my ex7000hd. supposed to be formatted to fat32 so all i did was plug it in and play. so switched off cable box from back and switched back on and 10 minutes later recorded no problem.
left the box on and tried to record tonight and it keeps coming up as usb undetected, switched on and off still no joy. any one have any ideas? thanks

I had a similar problem with my hdd. I put my old 60 gb hdd from my ps3 into a external caddy. Since the hdd was formatted FAT32 for ps3 I thought it would work fine. I had same problem as you. I reformatted the old ps3 drive via my laptop to FAT32 using a free program called swissknife. Works a treat now.
