      it will only allow you to watch virmin media HD channels which is approx 8 at the moment
      on the plus side it does upscale alll the others upto 1080i through a hdmi cable...and you can record with a external hard drive

        Thank you I wasn't aware that the abbrieviation HD meant High definition.

          sorry if i'm hijacking this but I have a few more questions about this box.
          is it the only hd box available for cable or is there another option for hd?
          and if it is the only option what hdd's are compatable with it? I have tried googling but i must be missing somethink . thanks for any info.

            the channels are bbc hd, c4 hd,espn hd,fx hd,living hd,mtv hd,nat geog hd and should be 20-30 more next year so i have heard

              There is the kryptview dw800 but good luck getting it as there's been production line issues which keep delaying it, and as for hdd I'm not sure - western digitals, iomegas should be ok, I got a 500gb seagate to add to mine - roll on next week!
