Hi many thanks to Chic did what you said and everything works, one thing i would like to know is why a lot of the channels have been duplicated is there some way i can delete these duplicated channels.
One again thanks for your help i thought i had waste my money buying this product but very pleased with it now.

did you do a deepscan, or scan twice. if so do a factory default and try fast scan.

I have a similar problem. The only difference is that I am connected to com 3 (which I believe is the right Port as I have tried all the others) but I still get "waiting for receiver to respond". I have tried putting the usb adapter directly into the eurovox, i have tried using the null modem cable in between. I have tried updating the usb drivers. i have tried pretty much everything i can think of but genuinely have no idea what else to try. I am not a complete newbie to this but i am not exactly an expert so your help would be really really appreciated!

To delete the duplicate channels you have to go into the menu and then Channel manager, click on edit and you will then be able to delete the unwanted channels ....it takes time though
