    Eurovox EX5100 PVR

Hi all, first time on a forum however here goes. I have just got a Eurovox EX5100 PVR and had it sorted IE firmware I guess (by a third psrty) but pretty much all the channels are badly broken up. Is there anything I can do or re do without giving it away again. Ps When I bought it the sheet said I had also got an RS 232 Cable but it wasnt there!!

Hope to hear from someone soon Thanks

Hi m8, channels are being moved about all over the country, VM are doing upgrade work.
Do clear date/factory reset and deep scan using the correct symbol rate for your area and that should being back all the channels.

You can pick up a RS232 cable(null modem cable) for a couple of ?s on flebay. This cable is required to update the firmware and/or a CDF file.

Just to check you have the latest firmware do menu>config>system info the S/W Ver should be 1.0 ST4 Jan 16 2009

Hi @puzzled2, if you have this firmware on your box then its ok
        > "Just to check you have the latest firmware do menu>config>system info the S/W Ver should be 1.0 ST4 Jan 16 2009"

If the box is new then you will have to do a full scan on the correct symbol rate for yor area and then leave it on a pay channel for a little while for it to update.

Also go menu>lang settings>ok>1968 and make sure Emulation is enabled.

Thanks for replying badapple. By a full scan do you mean deep scan, fast install or one of the options of user installation. On deep scan it only gives me the option of 3 symbol rates 6.875, 6.887 or 6.952, i live in st helens, merseyside & not sure which to use.
Also when i do the 1968 on language settings nothing else comes up apart from the original 4 options that are already there. thanks Puzzled2

Hi m8 do a deep scan i think your symbol rate is 6952 so scan on that if you dont get any channels then use 6887 , if your box is non flashed you wont get the 1968 option
if i helped hit the thanks btn

Thanks Chic, i know i am being a pain in the ass but badapple said in one of the previous posts that the firmware i had (which had a date of Jan 06 2009 & not Jan 16 2009) was ok. I'm new to all this so need to confirm things a dozen times, sorry.
