    eurovox 2 freezing

had my eurovox 2 for about 4 years,i put the new updating firmware in it about april this year, however for about 4 hours a day [always in the morning],it freezes on me after a few seconds it comes back on,but then it freezes and stays stuck with a blank green screen,it does come back on after you unplug it,but it seems to be getting worse and more frequent,a few weeks ago i tried putting in the firmware again but with the same results.

i was hoping someone could help me ouy here with what i need to do,or is it just an old box and its time to splash out on a newer model.

Yes its old but should still do the job for you. First recommendation would have been a reflash, but you have already tried this.

As you say it will work after been powered off for a while, it sounds like its overheating. Open it up and have a look for any capacitors/diodes that look to be on there way out.

As said its old but if maintained and put in a well ventilated area, (seen guys add fans, extreme I know), you may get some more service from it. That or as you said move on to a new model.

There is a CC problem at the moment in some areas.

my eurovox 2 now looks to be on its last legs, the colour has started to go and the pic on tv is a little bit blurred,i have opened it up and had a look inside, and it is way above me as to what i am looking for.

however i havent bought one for a few years now, and i like the eurovox set up,but it seems as though there are a lot more to choose from, for someone who just wants to watch tv on it whats my best bet.

i would just recommend another eurovox m8 if thats what you have had and you only want tv,you will know your way around it and they are easy to use, there is a pvr option as well if you want to record tv (but be aware this is pretty limited and you can only view whats on the same transponder if you are recording)

i think its your best bet the eurovox unless your box can be fixed on the cheap
