help with eurovox ex5000 pvr

Hi i've purchased a eurovox pvr ex5000 which arrived this morning. It has come with no software loaded but has given me a link to download software to get free to air channels. How do a get software for virgin media such as firmware and do i need to put the free to air software in first to get it running or can i put firmware straight in. Thanks

I.ve downloaded firmware but when i turn the box on it says no channels and when i do a powerscan it cannot find any channels.

Help please this is stressing me out.

Are you scanning on the correct symbol rate, have you tried both 6952 and 6887. I had to delete your link as we have a downloads section here, I thought your supplier directed you here.

no mate. I didn't use the one the supplier gave me because it says that you will only be able to use free to air software with that software but i then found a link on this forum to download firmware.

I've just found the correct frequency off another thread. Got them now

ok i've got all channels but they are scrammled any ideas

They take a minute or two to update once flashed correctly. What does it say in menu - config - system info? If it had FTA firmware on it you may need to turn the emu on after flashing with 1.1A.

Press menu - Press OK - type 1968 on remote and enable emulation if it is off.

If that makes any sense to you it doesn't say firmware though. Ive turned that thing off u said.

I tried to re download firmware and plugged it back in and cant get a signal now.

Use this firmware Digital Kaos - Downloads - new eurovox pvr software release v1.1A although it sounds correct. Have you checked emulation?

If emulation is on and it still hasnt updated, press menu - type 1968 on remote - press default key. Exit out to Sly Sports and see if it updates.

ye just done that again when i downloaded v.1.1a and pressed download it said version 2.0 detected and downloaded that 1 but didn't have choice. I will try doing a factory reset now and re scanning the channels because it says i have no signal and willl try what u said then.
