eurovox on computer

Hi. am i right in assuming that if i fit a cable splitter, run one cable to the normal cable box on the tv and the other cable to the eurovox box and then from the eurovox box to the tv card on my computer , i can then watch cable tv on the pc and on the tv. or am i being crazzzy.
