    CABLE CHANNELS ON LCD WITH DVB-C

    HERE IN GIBRALTAR WE HAVE DVB-C CABLE CHANNELS AND WE NEED A DVB-C RECIEVER TO PICK THEM UP.

    I BOUGHT A PHILIPS 22 INCH 5604 IN A LOCAL STOCKIST WITH BUILT IN DVB-C/T RECIEVER BUT IT DOES NOT PICK UP ANY CHANNELS WHEN I SEARCH THROUGH THE CABLE OPTION IN INSTALATION.
    THE SAME LCD IS SOLD AT ?100 MORE IN ANOTHER STOCKIST AND THEIR SAME LCD'S RECIEVER THE CHANNELS AFTER THEY INTRODUCE A USB ONTO THE LCD AND UPLOAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH FREQUENCY.WHAT I KNOW IS THAT THEY HAVE TO UPLOAD THE FREQUENCIES EVERYTIME NEW CHANNELS ARE INTRODUCED INTO THE CABLE SYSTEM.


    THEY REFUSE TO DO THIS TO ANY LCD THAT IS NOT BOUGHT AT THEIR SHOP EVEN IF YOU PAY THEM.
    THEY MUST HAVE FOUND OUT HOW TO DO THIS SOMHOW AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE KNOWS FIRSTLY WHAT IS IT THAT THEY MIGHT BE DOING VIA THE USB AND ANY IDEAS ARE WELCOME.

    ALSO CAN ANYONE RECOMEND A DVB-C RECIEVER AT A GOOD PRICE?

      hi this is call an integrated c.box ,built in the tv unit,this might probably need a flash via usb to update all the ch,work similar as a starview or eurovox.what region r u? starview 5 recommended.cheers

              hi

              did u find a solution to this? i've just figured out how to get ALL of the dvb-c channels on my new Philips TV (in Gib). I bought my tv in Spain.

              Let me know if u are still interested.

                              Hi, I have the same problem you had with your Philips Tv. Would you be able to provide me with the software update to receive all the channels?
