help with wireless connection pls...

Exactly.. Once you got the router to work on a wired network, then you can mess with the wireless settings,
as I said, to find out that the wireless enabled on the router by scanning it with another wireless gadget like a iphone,PSP,Wii, Mobile phone, ect
coz sometimes it is better to work backwards to see if the router is putting out a signal first...

And I still don't think you want the same ip on both, as it will clash.

When you log into the router what do you type, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1?

cut a long story short mate i had to just ftp files to my openmedia box,
i connected the crossover ethernet wire to my router then to the openmedia box,
on my openmedia box, it came with the ip of 192.162.1.5 with dchp ticked,
the gateway and newsserver was 192.162.1.1,
so i thought it seemed like it was connected to my router,
so i tried to connect in flashfxp to 192.162.1.5,
and guess what... it bloody worked!

i went onto start>run>cmd> pinged my openmedia ip,
and i got the following which proves its definately a correct wired connection,
from my router to the openmedia box -

Pinging 192.168.1.5 with 32 bytes of data:

my router i type to get into my web interface is 192.168.1.1

wireless is enabled on my router because when i go to 'site survery' on my gaming adapter settings it searcehes,
and finds local networks i can connect too!
it actually finds about 6 and mine is one of them with the most strength

Check the game consol to see if it is working as per, then you can sort out the security again later...

Sorry my mistake I thought the game adaptor was 105, but it is 103.

Ok try this, in this order:
1, turn dhcp and dns to auto, and turn off any security for game adaptor,
2, turn dhcp and dns to auto and turn off any security for router,
3, have a look in the router settings for an "ad hock" check box if there is put a tick in it,
4, Make sure that the router has got wireless enabled to on.
5, double check that your router wireless is on, by scanning it with anything else wireless.
Then check your game consol to see if it has worked...

can't believe i got it to work, with all of your help peeps!

i have done the below,
to explain how i did the settings for those who have helped me,
and i really do hope it helps everyone!

this is my settings as follows -

my wireless router ip is 192.168.1.1,
(this is the ip i type in internet explorer to get into my routers user interface)

so in my belkin g wireless gaming adapter web user interface,
i did the following -
ensured the ip was 192.168.1.3, but made sure the dhcp was enabled
and made sure the gateway was 192.168.1.1 like the routers
as you can see below...


so i wasn't sure if it really changed my ip address so i put the installation cd in,
and followed the setup until it detected my gaming adapter,
which as you can see, shows me the ip of 192.168.1.3, which tells me its worked


i then connected my gaming adapter to my openmedia box,
i went into the settings page,
ensured dhcp was ticked,
the nameserver was already as 192.168.1.1,
so i changed the gateway also to 192.168.1.1 which is the same as the routers,
saved it and rebooted.
once it loaded up it gave the the following ip 192.168.1.5,
as you can see...


so in a nutshell my router ip 192.168.1.1,
my gaming adapter ip 192.168.1.3
and openmedia ip 192.168.1.5
and dhcp is enabled.

all works fine!
