    blur, ghosting

    Hi,
Just got in opened my new openmedia box, plugged it in and the text has a blur/ghosting surrounding all of the text.
checked scart run it through rca cables(worse)
    seems quite bad to me,
how do these things compare to a stand alone DM500 picture wise?

    Trying another image right now...

Has anyone else seen this problem before?

    Thanks

Above is the ghosting from openmedia.

The bottom image is from a DM500

I have 2 of these boxes now and have no problems with them, I assume you've checked your AV settings?

not much to check really, on RGB, PAL,16:9
checked with a 1.99 scart ribbon cable
checked with a ?40 full RGB IXOS Cable
        Tried Different TV
Dreambox 500 using exactly same image as openmedia is spot on.
Tried using RCA cables (actually looks worse)

            sure did,
I have effectively tried 4 images as the cable and satelite images are seperate.

I got my box from Max G from his online store but i went to collect it in person.(you can find him on the forum)
He said that all these box's suffer from this problem but he offers a free mod to his customers and replaced a resistor or capacitor inside the machine to fix the text blur problem.
I would strongly suggest returning your box to the seller and ask them to either fix the fault or refund you.

only the first initial small batch suffered from this problem, this has now been rectified and all units that have been sold from october onwards are from the new batch and there should be no problems.
